might that brain be the Space Brain of that self same ep? The new powys
books gave some fascinating insights into some of alpha's later troubles
with aliens, such as the Bringers of Wonder and The Beta Cloud and that
maybe some of the malice against the Alphans was revenge based. it was
luna's destruction of the brain that caused the Bringers homeworld to
die and the troubles of the beta cloud bunch. Of course there was
reference to the fact that there are a lot of brains through the
universe and maybe the one the war games aliens tended was not the one
Alpha destroyed. there was also reference to the fact the moon was
guided to strike the space brain as a weapon by another force or race.
the first season of 1999 was replete with cosmological mysteries of the
large dimension. concepts of beings beyond human experience, not
necessarily beyond human comprehension, but beyond our limited universal
experience. The Alphans were the first terrestrials to experience the
universe on a large scale away from our little corner of space.
