Did Lexa Doig leave Andromeda before the start of Season 5 ??

The reason I ask this is that she doesn't appear in android form
and though I'm only a few eps into the season her appearances
on the computer screen and as a hologram could all be pre-recorded
bits from previous seasons.

She either left or they really cut back on her working hours :(

Any info.

I believe she was pregnant and took time off to have her baby. She
rejoined the crew in "real" form near the end of the season.

Thanx for that.

I guess having Rommi (?) walking round with a huge bump woulda
been a little hard to explain :)

Having her beat up bad-guys each ep would make the grind that
is S5 a little easier. Oh well I've made it this far ........

If you have "suffered" through season 5, as most of us did, go ahead and
go for the gold. A least they actually try to conclude TV series,
anymore, instead of just letting them end cold.

I'm gonna make it... I'm gonna make it..
.. it's a struggle but I'm gonna make it...

Upto 9 now, and have had finger on Fast-forward for last few eps.
... I think I need more coffee :(

. but if we're given a kinda-conclusion ep at the end, then that's
gotta be a good thing.

Not like Fastlane which just stopped mid 2-parter;
which Channel4 (England) decided to slip into their
schedules at 4am this morning, which I didn't realise cos I was on
fast-forward, so I missed the best ep.

Dammit Dammit Dammit.

Andromeda has be relegated to my "I'll watch'em later" disk-wallet.

Just found the wonder that is Veronica Mars ( it's like they gave
Smallvilles Chloe her own series but cast a more pretty lass to play her )

& the wonder that is Broadband means I can watch one ep whilst
dnldn the next ....... yes!!! :)

Oh well, looks like I can give my FFF (fast-forward-finger) a rest for now,
and leave the finding-out-how-it-all-ends-for-the-crew until a bit later.

EP..

ps. I'm trying to think just how they pitched S5 to the money-men.

Something like "we've got this sci-fi series, set in space, been in space
for the past 4 years, only now we'll have them remain on a planet 99%
of the time, and do little preachy-learning-experiency-thingies at the
end of each ep. Oh yes Harper the fixit guy won't be fixing things as much,
the NeechyN (?) won't kill people anymore, kickass Rommie won't be there
for 1/2 the series, but don't fret Dillion will still get his regular piece-a booty.
All in all it'll be globally dispissed (?) by many-many of the fans who stuck
with it, even after Tyr left.

.... and they STILL said yes ..................
.............................................................
............ I don't know, I JUST don't know. :(

They sunk Andromeda long before season five. They took a decent premise
and just threw it away: frittered t away over the seasons. It's weird
kind of "reverse lost is space" effect. LOS started out as a series set
on mainly one planet for the first two seasons and then moved into space
for the third season. I think season five andromeda should have been
"the adventures of the andromeda crew after they settle down". Harper
starts a bar and Dylan is the resident lush and storyteller recalling
his "glory days" when he single handedly brought back decent government
to the Three Galaxes. Rommie and Doyle could be the eternally young
exotic dancers famous on many worlds for their acrobatic shows. Etc. ;-)

"NeechyN"! LOL, I like that! I think they sold it on the premise that
"It's by Roddenberry", and thence must be a money maker. They got some
old Star Trek Next generation alumni to develop it and then gave them
the boot and let mediocrity take it over. It ran on inertia from the
first season, then declined slowly, but surely, very much like Earth
Final Conflict. Not quite as bad a fall as that series did, but still
pretty damn bad.

Born and thriving during season 1,
.. took a tumble at the end of the second
.. slipped into a coma during the third
.. brain dead during the fourth
and during the fifth they just spent the time prodding it with a stick,
like a "Weekend a Bernies" sequel, whilst it quicky decayed.

Maybe S5 ends with a whole load of fans coming into the studio
and giving everyone a big slap.

or simply a shot of Gene lying in his grave crying, then fade to black.

I have my fingers crossed that a re-dredlocked Tyr appears and
give Dillion a well-deserved ass-whooping
