Where is everyone..?
Most people left the group shortly after the series ended.

Hmm, why..? It's still being shown in many places, here in the UK for
example. Also the DVD's are around so surely someone is still
interested..?

Oh well.

Don't get me wrong. I love the show. I've seen every episode, and although
Season 5 (the final season) was disappointing, I still enjoyed the entire
series. I also watch the re-runs when they come on. I think a lot of the
problem for the past-regulars, was the 5th season was really bad. I think
people started to disappear during that season, and just never came back.
Have you seen the entire run of the show? What were your favorite episodes?

Not all of them, I bought the entire DVD box set of all 5 seasons a couple
of months ago, so I am slowly working my way through them, at the moment
I'm about halfway through S3, which is as far as I ever got on TV, don't
think S4/5 were ever shown here.

Difficult to say which are the favourites up until now, I think any that
heavily feature Rommie are top of the list at the moment <g>

I stuck with andromeda to the 'bitter' end, and have them all on tape. i
still will rerun one now and again.

Luckily up here in Canada due to Canadian Content issues it gets
replayed a lot. Currently showing on Showcase everyday so you can
pick and choose which re-runs you want to watch.

Last week I got to watch the one where Rommie gets kidnapped by the
other universe aliens to be their energy source and the comedy with
the jibes about Dylan looking tired and he and Tyr fighting about
which alien dropped first and such was great.

Very true. "Space" shows it as well, if memory serves.

That was a great scene. Dylan says his bad guy hit the ground first, and
Tyr said it was because his was fatter, or something like that. Great
scene.

I'm still trying to convince my wife to let me buy the 5-season DVD
set myself. :-) Season 5 didn't interest me all that much but the
first seasons were good.

Go for it, I got mine on eBay from this seller
http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/g_zoop but there are plenty of others, the guy I
bought from is UK based so the DVD's are PAL/Region 2 so if you're in the
US you may have problems getting them to play on NTSC equipment (although
they should be ok on a PC).

What I always wondered about late S3 onwards was where did the additional
crew come from..? They just appeared randomly wandering about the ship
every so often, none of them were ever seen arriving..!

I'm in the US so I would need NTSC. I've been looking around the
various listings on eBay for the set; we'll see..

I guess that we're supposed to assume that the crew members starting
showing up as the Adromeda Ascendant had more and more worlds join the
Commonwealth.

Try and get the wife into the show too, then it's a sure thing. ;-)

I got the dvds from the local library and liked a lot of the bonus
material they added, esp the tech manual type stuff. it had a lot of
detail of weapons systems and such that was never gone into detail in
the show. i wish they had put out some hardcopy tech manuals [ala all
the trek stuff] on andromeda and efc.

I've already tried that; she could care less about anything sci-fi.

I would have to agree there. A fantastic actress, and damned good looking
to boot. Did you ever see her in "Jason X"? Her and Lisa Ryder (Beka from
"Andromeda") are both in it, but there roles are switched. Lisa plays an
android, while Lexa (Rommie on "Andromeda") plays a human. Not the best
movie I have ever seen, but well worth a watch, IMHO.

"Ouroboros", from season 2, is #1 of course. Next, I'd have to say
"The Lone and Level Sands" and "The Unconquerable Man", despite
their being season 3 eps, when everything really started going to
hell in a handbasket. Hmm..., "The Dark Backward" from season 3 was
pretty good, too. Off hand, my favorites from season 1 are probably
"The Mathematics of Tears" and "Harper 2.0", and from season 2 (in
addition to "Ouroboros), "Pitiless as the Sun", "The Prince" and
"The Fair Unknown".
