That crater sheridan dropped into was supposedly two miles deep. Lorien
must have been able to generate one HELL of a protective field to shield
them from a 1000 megaton blast.

But he got better.

[He didn't Sheridan died.]

"He did die, but he should been atomized since he was only two miles
from ground zero of a 1000 megaton blast. The H-Bombs humanity has set
off are impressive enough, but are sparklers compared to the blast the
white star set off."

I'm still trying to figure out why Delenn told him not to go. Seemed to
turn out to be a good thing for both of them.

Lorien had to resurrect Sheridan and empower him with some of fis own
life force that only had a twenty year duration. As it was near the time
that sheridan was expecting to die when Delenn told him not to go to
Zhadum, this could be seen asa last desperate act on her part to change
a destiny she knew must happen.

I can't say that I can see any obvious flaw in what you say.

But still, given what we know about Delenn, about the course of the war,
etc. etc. etc.....it still rings odd to me.
