I just got season one on DVD. it is an interesting show, but i have some
trouble with some of the premises.
If the 'martians' have been in government custody for 35 years, then why
the hell don't they know all about them? if the movie is the basis for
the show, then there should be hundreds of tripods and thousands of
alien bodies all over the planet after the '53 invasion. they had
destroyed a good part of a lot of world cities and had destroyed a good
portion of LA. But NO ONE seems to remember a conflict more disastrous
than WW2! You think they would have dissected every alien body and
studied every alien device they had. SOMEONE had to seal those aliens in
those steel drums. They just have alien tripods collecting dust in a
hanger for 35 YEARS?! That stretches all probability to the point of
ludicrousness.
It's not in the history books? it was basically World War 3. No secret
government record? Bullshit!

Got done watching all season one eps. it was an ok, if pedantic, series.
kind of the prototype of the cookie cutter canucklhead SF of the late
90's: stargate, andromeda, EFC, tekwar, etc. wish they would come out
with season two on DVD. i have the first ep of season two on an OLD
video tape.

just watched ep one of season two. i happened to have it one of my
oldest videotapes, almost 20 years old. was a new direction, but a bad
one, i feaR. too much blade runner. if i want aliens who can mimic
humans and trying to invade earth, i wil reread ROM!
